CCA Pre-Examination Guideline

How the Certified Coaches Alliance (CCA) plays a role in your International coach certification:

The CCA acts as the oversight separation of power between Rhema International Training Group Inc. and affiliated schools of training to ensure that program guidelines are adhered to (ICF / CCA Approved Coach Specific Training Hours), and by issuing final examinations and examination scores for pass or fail as an impartial observer. Upon graduation and affiliation, the CCA will represent your International coach certification on the global stage.

* The following notice is presented to you to preserve an accurate record of legal notification of the importance of maintaining your International coach status.  This notice hereby serves as record to our Legal Team, our effort to maintain, uphold and represent the legal rights of individuals who choose to maintain their active International coach certification status through the Certified Coaches Alliance. *  The Certified Coaches Alliance and Advisory

In existence since 2004, the CCA is well respected Internationally for their professional standards and profile. No longer are prospective clients and potential employers asking only if a coach has been certified through a respected program, they are also inquiring if a coach is aligned with an organization that upholds a professional “Code of Ethics and Standards.” Alignment to a body that provides and upholds a cohesive “Code of Ethics and Standards” is imperative to the success of any coach within today’s marketplace and shows the coaches professional observance to be held accountable.

Government offices now mandate that any coach considered through the hiring process be formally trained, certified and under the auspices of a professional body governed by a “Code of Ethics and Standards.” A vast number of community organizations, for profit and not-for-profit societies are following this lead.

Must I maintain my CCA Affiliation ongoing?

Maintaining CCA affiliation and adherence to the Professional Code of Ethics and Standards which it upholds is essential to your ongoing International coach certification/status.  If at any time in the future you achieve ACC, PCC or MCC personal credential status through the International Coach Federation (ICF), you may discontinue your ongoing affiliation to the CCA as you would then be obligated to adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics and Standards as set forth by the ICF guidelines. Inform our office should you achieve ACC, PCC or MCC status through personal credentialing and we will appropriately update your Online Certification Authentication Link.

Maintaining Your Legal International Coach Status:

Whereas the Certified Coaches Alliance is named as the official body charged with maintaining accurate records of all graduates of schools of coach training affiliated with Rhema International Training Group Incorporated, it is essential that you maintain ongoing communication regarding the renewal of your coach certification to ensure that your International coach status is preserved and kept in good standing. A renewal process of your International coach certification standing is essential to:

  • Ensuring that the CCA Professional Code of Ethics and Standards is adhered to;
  • Arbitrating disputes between coach/client;
  • Acting as a professional reference for the coach;
  • Maintaining accurate records of all graduates and alumni currently in active service;
  • Updating of records (change of name, postal address, telephone and email address);
  • Overseeing changes to coaching designations;
  • Closing files of coaches who have retired their International coach status;
  • Closing files of coaches no longer in good standing (of timely certification renewal processing);
  • Closing files of coaches who have become deceased during the current or previous reporting year;
  • Update the CCA coach registry of records and informing the ICF on any Internationally certified coach no longer in good standing.

The Certified Coaches Alliance actively and aggressively pursues through legal action any misuse, abuse or misrepresentation of the certifications that it represents.

Choosing Your Coach Designation:

Selecting the appropriate designation is possibly one of the more significant decisions that you will need to make. The coach designation represents your professional standing as a coach within the coaching community and the greater community at large.

Review the following guidelines CAREFULLY:

Each graduate is permitted to carry a “Specialty Niche” designation. Any designation is possible unless regulated by a governing or government regulatory body (i.e.: therapist, psychologist, mediator, registered counsellor, etc.).

Should a requested designation fall into the above categories of regulation or be considered misleading, it will be denied by the CCA Advisory and the designation of 'Certified LIFE Coach' will be applied to the student's file. All decisions are final and there is no appeal process.

A coach designation may not contain the following:

  • Word "and"
  • Hyphen "-" or "_" underscore
  • Comma ","
  • Symbols such as: "/", "|", "&", "@", "+"

Coaches may not reference therapy of any type and you may not misrepresent his/herself inferring that the work of the coach is related to therapy, psychotherapy, regulated health care or services such as a physician, nursing, counselling, rehab services. You may not use the terms trainer, mentor, consultant, etc., as these are designations of modalities all of which have their own processes.
